Early this year, Hasbro went after Facebook with accusations of copyright infringement over a particularly popular Scrabble clone that was hosted on the increasingly popular site. It came to a head last week, when Hasbro decided to sue.

In response to the lawsuit, Facebook has made a logical move and removed the game for now, denying access to users in the U.S. and Canada (though it is still functional in other countries). Hasbro's intention with the lawsuit seems to have already been accomplished, which was to get Facebook to pull the game from its site. However, Facebook probably has acted too late and will now face off with Hasbro in the courts. They do assert that they are trying to "remain neutral" during this.
