Opera Mini chosen for new handset
Opera is getting a viewership boost thanks to a recent partnership with a handset provider in India, who has decided to use Opera Mini as a stock browser for a new device. The Blink X511, manufactured by Micromax, will come with Opera Mini preinstalled and as the default browser, adding on to the reported 14.5 million Opera Mini users. India is certainly a quickly growing market for web connectivity, and Opera is certainly happy to have the Blink.
Mobile web usage has definitely grown rapidly in the past four years, and according to Opera there are roughly 3.2 billion page views a month using the mobile variety of their browsers. On a mobile phone, though, I really don't want to know what browser I'm using – I want it to be quick and unobtrusive. If you've never used Opera Mini before and have a PDA, it's at least worth a try.

I remember when Opera Free had ads in it, I think opera would have even more users than firefox if they had came to the market earlier with the ad-free free version. |

I wouldn't dare to say more users but they were definitely too late to the freeware game, and they had built a worthy alternative to IE much earlier. |
