Intel launches three new low-cost desktop CPUs
Intel has updated its product lineup with three new desktop processors: the Core 2 Quad Q8200, Core 2 Duo E5200 and Celeron D 450.The Q8200, priced at $224 in 1000-unit quantities, is now the second least expensive quad-core chip that the company offers after the Q6600.
This 45nm part has a core clock speed of 2.33GHz, 4 MB L2 cache, and a front-side bus speed of 1333MHz. The Core 2 Duo E5200 is priced at $84 and features a core clock speed of 2.5GHz, 2MB of cache memory, and an 800MHz front-side bus. Finally, the 65nm Celeron D 450 features 2.2GHz clock speeds, 512KB L2 cache and 800MHz FSB. The price for this chip is set at $53 in 1000-unit quantities.
