EA and Eidos sign publishing agreement

Eidos and EA are shaking hands, following a deal signed by both companies to have EA begin publishing Eidos games for mobile devices. The games include certain mobile adaptations like Tomb Raider Underworld. This doesn't include any of their standard PC lineups, though that may change in the future. Even though Eidos often serves as publisher to other companies, they have felt it necessary to delegate to EA Mobile some of their publishing responsibilities.

This venture may have something to do with the financial losses of SCi Entertainment, the parent company of Eidos. It was announced today that the company has lost a significantly amount of money, $177 million last year. This was influenced by less than stellar game sales and could leave the door open to even more EA encroachment on Eidos territory.
