Microsoft preps Xbox 360 'Starter Pack'
Microsoft has announced a new Starter Pack designed for those with the base Xbox 360 Arcade who want to move up to the Pro version of the console without having to buy an entirely new system. The pack includes a 60GB hard drive, a headset, and Ethernet cable and a three-month gold subscription to Xbox Live.
The new pack will enable Xbox 360 Arcade owners to get a sizeable storage device ahead of the (storage-space requiring) New Xbox Experience roll out next month – Microsoft is also offering free memory cards and a discount on the 20GB hard drive for them. The starter pack will hit stores in November priced at $99.99, which is exactly the same as the price difference between the Xbox 360 Arcade ($199.99) and the Xbox 360 Pro ($299.99).
