What's on your Xmas Tech Wish List?
Because of time constraints and the fact that we wanted to go live with our budget & mid-range graphics card comparison yesterday, we don't have a new Weekend Open Forum discussion this weekend as usual.

That won't prevent us from asking what new gadgets and tech products are you getting this holiday season? Share your tech wish list with your fellow TS members.
In case you are still unsure on what to give or get, make sure you read our Holiday Gift Guide.

New cheap eBook Reader from Foxit (the free PDF reader) Amazon's Kindle electronic book reader costs $359--but you can't get one until at least February. Sony's PRS-700BC costs $399--also pretty darn costly. But Foxit Software will soon begin shipping an eBook reader that costs only slightly more than half what Sony's reader does. PC World.

Valve offers S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for $5 In case you missed the news late yesterday, THQ and Valve are offering the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game for a mere $5. Considering the game is not yet even two years old, it's certainly a good deal if you're a FPS fan. TechSpot News.
Also check out 3D Realms latest DNF wallpaper - yup, no game yet, perhaps in 2012.

Microsoft Extends XP Availability For Distributors A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed the existence of a flexible inventory program that will allow distributors to place their final orders for Windows XP OEM licenses by Jan. 31, 2009, and take delivery against those orders through May 30. Hands On With The Intel Convertible Classmate From the outset, Intel's goal with the Classmate line was to create a cheap, durable laptop that could be useful in a classroom. As such, Intel gave the Classmate tablet an 8.9-inch touchpanel, 1.6 GHz Atom processor, 802.11n wi-fi, 1 GB RAM, a 60 GB HDD (or up to 8 GB of flash storage), a days worth of battery life and a weight under three pounds. There weren't many PC upgrades in line for my these holidays, just bought a new G5 mouse a couple of months ago and now I have added a replacement MS Natural Keyboard 4000 that replaces the exact same model that I've been using for a couple of years. Also just today I got Rock Band 2 and the only other remaining tech upgrade I'll be needing is a new case, I might get the Cooler Master HAF 932 that we reviewed the other day:[url]http://www.techspot.com/review/133-coolermaster-haf

Um, a new system. The highlights (lowlights?); Gigabyte EP45-UD3R, Antec 900, EVGA GT9500, Seagate SATA3 250GB. My kid is getting me an E7300. I'm guessing he'll wrap it. I'm just a bit conflicted about whether to wrap the junk I had to buy myself.

Dear Santa,I have been a good boy this year and if you came down my chimmey you would find:1. Cookies and milk2. Me playing fall out 3 or far cry 2 (dont worry I wont notice you as I will be totally immersed or half cut)3. A graphics card which will be running to hot ~( god I hope not)On a serious note though, I'm looking at updating the ram and mother board, I was asked- what do you want for Christmas, but has anyone tried to explain to people over 60 what ram and a mother board is? let alone the internet.(sorry if you are older than this I am really refering to my family) Also I would like to wish everyone at techspot a very merry christmas, your website is ace.
