It's been a few months since the Battlefield Heroes closed beta was shut down, but testing for Electronic Arts' free-to-play online shooter is finally due to resume tomorrow. According to the official site, anyone who was already accepted into beta testing previously will be automatically enrolled in the second round, using their earlier credentials, while those who have not yet been accepted can sign up for the beta here.

The cartoonish Battlefield Heroes is a free casual version of Battlefield 1942 financed through advertisements and micro-transactions for character customizations. It will be the first title in the Battlefield series to be released under this business model, and while the game was originally slated for a late 2008 release, it is now expected to go live by the end of March.
