Bigger is better, that has been the motto of netbook manufacturers. That is what the customers want, they say, and as a result you have MSI, Gigabyte, Acer and of course Asus all offering 10-inch display units. The popularity of these over their smaller siblings has even convinced some manufacturers that the 8.9-inch road is a dead end. Asus, for instance, plans to completely drop such units altogether.

According to the company, they expect that their 10-inch systems will compose upwards of 95% of their netbook sales, with their much smaller 7-inch units making up the rest for special uses. They are not alone in making this phase-out either, as it turns out Acer may be considering a similar move.
