HP starts offering longer-lasting Enviro laptop batteries

Just as it was promised back in December, HP has begun offering its long-lasting Enviro laptop batteries from Boston Power that promise to deliver like-new performance for 1,000 charge cycles – compared to 300 cycles or less with conventional lithium ion batteries. These are the first and only notebook batteries on the market to have a three-year warranty and should fit in 18 different HP laptop models.

They are currently available for $149.99 apiece and should also be available as part of the accessories selection process for new notebooks starting in late March, presumably for $20 to $30 more than the default battery. In addition to offering increased performance the company also claims that the batteries can be recharged to 80% of their capacity in just 30 minutes. More information is available on the press release while a complete list of compatible HP laptop models can be found here.
