Microsoft has announced that their latest inclusion in the SideWinder line, the SideWinder X3 Mouse, will cost only $40. According to Redmond, the eight-button mouse is ambidextrous in design and features a 2000 DPI tracking engine, on-the-fly DPI switching, 5 programmable primary buttons, macro recording and recessed side buttons.


Developed for use with Windows XP and Vista, the corded mouse's main buttons are rated for 10,000,000 clicks and additional features includes full-speed USB reporting at 500 Hz and can be used at a maximum speed of 45 inches per second with up to 20 Gs of acceleration.
