Ultra-thin Dell Inspiron Mini 11 to ship in August?

By on
Earlier this month a leaked roadmap suggested that Dell is planning to launch the Inspiron Mini 11 notebook before the end of Q3, for those who want a thin and light solution but can’t blow two grand on an Adamo or the like. Few details have been made available about this machine in terms of specifications, among those is an 11.6-inch screen will be HD capable and 2GB of RAM alongside 250GB storage capacity.

Now DigiTimes is reporting that Compal has received orders for an “ultra-thin notebook” from Dell that relies on cheaper CULV (consumer ultra low voltage) processors from Intel. The systems are expected to start shipping in August, so putting two and two together, this model could very well be the rumored Dell Mini 11 that should deliver “laptop-like performance” starting at just $499. In addition to Dell, Compal is also hoping to land ultra-thin notebook orders from Toshiba and Lenovo.
