Acer broadens Timeline offering with 8000-series

It ships with either an Intel Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Solo ULV CPU and up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM (when opting for a 64-bit OS). Hard disk drive choices range in capacity from 160GB to 500GB and an 80GB Intel X25-M SSD is available. Graphics options include Intels GMA 4500MHD and a dedicated ATI 4330. Up to four USB 2.0 slots are available, as well as a memory card reader, Bluetooth, 802.11n, a multi-touch trackpad and the Timeline 8000 boasts up to 8 hours of battery life.
There is no official mention of availability or pricing, but it seems fair to expect the lesser-geared models at less than $1,000.
