in-house feature
Winners announcement (10/11): Congratulations to our GoG giveaway winners! The usernames of the 15 winners are as follows: skitzo_zac, lynxon, jdaniel, pomonasi, Colonel Lance, TorturedChaos, TomSEA, Relic, Technochicken, vestin, Balthier, JamesGecko, MrTikki, onlytrung, DarKSeeD. Members will be notified via email shortly. And please remember this is only the first of a series of giveaways, so stay tuned!
Giveaway update (10/10): The giveaway winners will be announced Monday afternoon in this space and contacted via email, in the meantime you have a few more hours to participate and enter our contest. This is the first of many giveaways we have prepared for our readers for the remainder of the year. Thank you for your support.
Original story is below:
Good Old Games is just about that, reviving PC gaming classics. Having started with just two publishers and 40 titles backing them up, one year later GoG.com has expanded to include nearly 30 publishers and over 130 games, among which are such classics like the original Fallout, MDK, Duke Nukem 3D and many more -- priced reasonably between $5.99 and $9.99 for a DRM-free copy.
Good Old Games is just reaching its first anniversary, so we thought it would be a good idea to check back on them to see how things were going (and get more freebies for our readers, of course). We talk with the service's PR manager, Lukasz Kukawski as he comments on some of the challenges the service has faced, their DRM-free model, and a few other tidbits on the GoG operation.
Also... Don't miss our GoG giveaway!
Just comment here what game you would like to receive for free (check GoG's full catalog) and double your chances by mentioning any other PC gaming classic you loved back in the day, for nostalgia's sake [more info].

I'd like to win Duke Nukem 3D. I'd love to play Earl Weaver Baseball - but last time I tried on my PC, it was too fast for the game to handle. Using the arrow keys, the cursor jumped from one side of the screen to the other. I couldn't get it to the selection screen to switch the controls to the mouse. Bummer. |

game I'd like to win: MESSIAH game that brings back memories: Solar Wind (which I don't think in the gog's list yet.) This site is great; There are lots of games that just do not work on new hardware and OS. It is cool that we have someone helping to keep there IPs working and available. |

The game that I would like to get is Beyond Good and Evil A few of the (good) old games that I played and loved are both Earthworm Jim's (I can still hear the SQUAK from the birds in the first level), both Abe games (So many memories playing that with my dad when I was younger.... That game is so much harder than I remember!), and the first Rayman game (I can only remember how vivid the sprites were) |

The game I'd like to win is Descent & Descent 2. First time I played those games I almost hurled from the vertigo of being able to move around 360 degrees in a 3D environment. Was trippy! Wow...that's quite the catalog they have there! Hadn't checked it in a while. Great interview too.... Be nice if they added the MechWarrior series as well as the Age of Empire series. Good article - thanks! |
