Geek shortage? No wonder. Even a doctor doesn't have to retake his board exams every 3 years like with the microsoft certified system engineer exam. Capitalism (making money off of new exams/server software) at it's peak.

Further, why do people/managers at Goldman Sacks get $500K a year when the technical people who make a company start at $30K if they're lucky? Let's start rewarding the technical people with salaries of high school flunkout management.

If you knew anybody who works in IT in an investment bank, you will know that their work is not very complex, and if you were to demand a higher salary, the bank will just turn to another IT graduate who would do the work equally well. But if you're talking about the quants people, yeah they do get paid a lot because they're real nerds with PhDs and loads of computing language skills!
