Asus is preparing to dump yet another netbook on the market, assuming a fresh listing on the company's site is indicative of a pending product launch. The new model, 1005PX, is based on Intel's Pine Trail platform and carries a 10.1-inch 1024x600 LED-backlit matte display.

It sports an Intel Atom N450 processor, up to 2GB of system memory, 160GB, 250GB or 320GB of storage, a 0.3-megapixel webcam, Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, a pair of USB 2.0 ports, a MMC/SD card reader, a VGA connector, and audio jacks.

The system runs either Windows 7 Starter or XP Home and gets up to 8.5 hours of life on a six-cell battery, which puts the total weight around 1.27kg or 2.79lbs. It comes in five solid colors – black, white, blue, pink and red – so you don't have to worry about it clashing with your shoes.

We haven't seen any official pricing or release information, but TechConnect reports that a model with 1GB of RAM and a 320GB HDD is already in Thai stores for about $455.

Who wants a matted display? Ultra Brite with Deeper Contrast/Brightness is much better.
