Folks who haven't already crossed an HTPC off their Christmas list might like to know that Boxee has finally announced an official release date for its media streaming cube. The Boxee Box will ship worldwide on November 10 to customers who preordered, with the earliest possible delivery date of November 11. The device will hit store shelves one week later, but you can still preorder it in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK as well as other countries across Europe if you want it as soon as possible.

Manufactured by D-Link, the Boxee Box first emerged last year and uses Boxee's media software, allowing users to browse local content or connect to tons of web videos and more. The device been delayed at least once, which might be related to the company's decision to drop Nvidia's Tegra 2 SoC in favor of Intel's Atom CE4100 as it's better equipped for 1080p H.264 playback. Other specs include S/PDIF and composite audio connectors, HDMI-out, Ethernet and 802.11n Wi-Fi, two USB 2.0 ports, and an SD card slot.
