Microsoft has announced Halo Fest, the largest and most expansive live Halo experience ever. The event will take place during PAX Prime 2011 in order to mark 10 years of Halo and Master Chief.
The software giant has promised to show why the past decade of the series was "just the beginning." Halo Fest will be packed with tournaments, exclusive panels, and prizes, all of which will help fans look back "at the amazing stories that forged a diverse community and redefined gaming for two entire console generations."
PAX Prime is taking place in the Washington State Convention Center, which is located in Seattle, Washington. Halo Fest will be on the Annex third floor for three days straight (10:00AM to 6:00PM): August 26, 2011 to August 28, 2011. Admission is included with the purchase of a PAX Prime Badge.
For those who may not know the Halo video game franchise so well, it was created by Bungie and Microsoft Game Studios. There have been five games since, including Halo: Combat Evolved (the first game in the series), Halo 2 (the second game in the series), Halo 3 (the third game in the series), Halo 3: ODST (a game set during the events of Halo 2 and Halo 3), and Halo: Reach (a prequel to the first game). There is also a Halo Original Soundtrack (an album that includes the song "Halo"), a Halo film coming out in 2012 (the first Halo movie), and Halo Wars (a real-time strategy spin-off created by Ensemble Studios).
