Amazon offers buy one, get one free video game sale
Amazon is celebrating the 4th of July holiday in its own unique way. The online retail giant is offering a big Buy One, Get One Free sale on video games (and some accessories), between July 4, 2011 and July 9, 2011.
"Through Saturday, July 9th, buy one game or accessory and get one free. Choose from hundreds of games and accessories from the list below," the webpage for the deal explain. "Simply add both items to your cart and proceed to checkout."
That's right, you can get two different titles for the price of one. Some of the games listed are pretty crappy, but there are some gems there as well as. Others are already sold out though, so you should hurry up, but make sure not to just pick and choose blindly. At the time of writing this article, there were some 300 titles available across seven categories: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, PC & Mac, Nintendo DS, Sony PSP, and PlayStation 2.
Amazon only lists a maximum of 28 items per page, and so the company notes you might have may need to add items to your cart separately if they are not on the same page. It's almost like you're in a video game store and the owner tells you that everything with a yellow label is part of the deal – you have to hunt all over the place before you finally pick the pair(s) you want to buy.
Is Amazon's deal not enough for you? Well, Steam is also offering a summer sale today. If you notice any other deals happening for Independence Day in the US, video games or otherwise, do let us know in the comments.

Good to know Amazon also likes putting out their "bargain bin" around the holidays, with the hope someone will accidentally click on the wrong thing and buy one of those awful games. I've seen better selection in a GameStop bin. At least they throw in decent (if dated) sports titles. |
