This isn't much of a confirmation, but it's worth noting that GameFly usually lists "3rd party download required" on Steamworks-only games (see Deus Ex: Human Revolution or Warhammer 40k: Space Marine for examples). Bastion doesn't list this, so I assume you won't be provided a key to activate elsewhere.
