AT&T reveals Nokia Lumia 920, 820 and HTC 8X pricing / release dates

AT&T has finally announced release dates and pricing information for their line of Nokia Lumia phones as well as the HTC Windows Phone 8X. The wireless carrier will begin taking pre-orders for the the flagship Lumia 920 as well as the budget-minded Lumia 820 on November 7 followed by a launch two days later on the 9th.

The Lumia 920 will be priced at just $99.99 with a typical two-year service agreement. That’s $100 cheaper than most mainstream handsets like the Galaxy S III and the iPhone 5 and $200 cheaper than Samsung’s new Note II. Additionally, AT&T will be throwing in a wireless charging plate free of charge with each 920 while supplies last.

In the event you don’t need that much phone, the Lumia 820 can be yours for just $49.99 with the same two-year contract. This pricing strategy has the potential to pay huge dividends for Nokia this holiday season, at least on the upper end. With just a $50 price difference between the mid-range and high-end models, it seems like a no-brainer to throw down the extra dough for a flagship device.

We have also learned that the HTC Windows Phone 8X will be priced at $99.99 for an 8GB model. The 16GB handset will sell for $199.99, both with a two-year agreement. AT&T will be the exclusive carrier for the Limelight Yellow and California Blue 8GB HTC phones, we’re told. Unfortunately we still don’t know when this handset will hit store shelves aside from a vague “before Thanksgiving” promise.

  1. Hope they do a deal like that in the UK

  2. What phone manufacturer could possibly think that sharp corners are what anyone would want on a phone to frequently stab themselves with - oh, hang on, it's NOKIA.....hmmmm.
