Amazon has unveiled a new bundle (just in time for the holidays) that it believes will be perfect for the bookworm in your life.

The Fire HD 8 Reader's Edition bundle includes in the entry-level Fire HD 8 tablet with 8GB of local storage, Wi-Fi and Blue Shade technology. If you recall, Blue Shade debuted last week as part of a system update for the Fire lineup.

The feature adjusts the color temperature when reading in dim lighting conditions (like at night before bed) as research has shown that blue light makes it more difficult for the body to fall asleep. The display's brightness also dims considerably, putting less strain on the user's eyes (and the battery).

The Reader's Edition further includes a one-year subscription to Kindle Unlimited, the e-book rental service that offers access to more than a million titles.

Last but not least, the bundle comes with a limited edition leather cover for the tablet and a free 30-day trial of Audible (audio books).

The Fire HD 8 Reader's Edition is available for pre-order today priced at $249.99. The tablet by itself can be had for $129.99 while Kindle Unlimited commands $9.99 per month. Doing the math, we see that you're saving a whopping $0.12 with the bundle although you do get the free leather cover - a $49.99 value. It ships on December 9.
