A federal judge postpones the enforcement of the Washington state law that was to restrict the sales of certain video games starting this month.

According to a Reuters report, US District Judge Robert Lasnik today issued an order blocking enforcement of Washington state bill HB 1009, which was signed into law in May. The law was scheduled to take effect on July 27 and would have imposed a $500 fine on retailers who sell any game depicting violence against "law enforcement officers" to those under age 17.
