No Man's Sky may very well go down in history as one of the gaming industry's biggest busts. As we reported earlier today, the Hello Games product is now being played concurrently by fewer than 1,000 people on Steam after launching just over a month ago.

While many have since moved on, one modder is continuing to focus on the game... or at least, its vision.

Robert Prest has been working on a replica of No Man's Sky for the better part of three weeks (the project was initially expected to be completed in just three days). He based everything off of what he's seen in trailers as he hasn't even played the game yet.

Just like the actual game, his version - called No Guy's Sky - features a spacecraft that can be used to explore procedurally-generated planets. You can mine minerals, interact with aliens and even visit space stations to gather items. Hilariously enough, the game's aliens are crafted after Doom monsters with human faces.

Prest said he plans to publish the mod in the near future but first needs to modify a few of the game's textures.

For just three weeks of time invested, the recreation looks incredibly impressive.
