Microsoft clears its own XP SP2 confusion

Just 3 days after a Microsoft vice president--who is in charge of Microsoft.com & Windows Update--told thousands of delegates at a conference in Florida that Service Pack 2 for Windows XP would be available by the end of 2003, the company has effectively retracted the comments & said that customers will see only a beta version of SP2 this year.

  1. I think Longhorn is going to be out before Microsoft finishes SP2.
  2. I had planned on giving XP another shot after SP2 (using win2k currently). It seems that won't be for a long while :)/me pets win2k SP4
