Excellent image quality, Full 1080p video @ 60fps, GPS and compass for geotagging
Back-illuminated sensor, Built-in GPS and compass, Good build quality, Great colours, Excellent noise for a small sensor
Heaps of really clever functions
Startup is very fast, HX5's iSweep Panorama feature is among the best panoramic features around, Several different movie settings are available, along with a dedicated movie button, HX5 excels in lowlight photography; small flash is powerful, 10X zoom

Cons

No HDMI port, Weak zoom
Higher specification cameras available for the same price, Has some white-balance issues
Overly bright lowres LCD screen
Price is a little high, Shots with the flash can suffer from some shutter lag, Camera is a little bigger and heaver than most beginner cameras, Can inadvertently cover flash while holding camera
