Asus ROG Strix Scar II (GL504GS)

Overview

If you’re in the market for a thin and light laptop that’s capable of playing games at respectably high settings and can last six hours on a charge, look toward the Razer Blade 15 or the MSI GS65. The Scar II is the smallest and lightest of the gaming laptops with full mobile Nvidia graphics, so it falls into a unique spot between a thin and light gaming laptop and tanky powerhouse. Maybe that explains all the camouflage.

The ROG Strix Scar II delivers performance and style in equal measure, and is priced very competitively. It’s only drawback is its battery life, but that's the price you pay for this much portable power. Other than that the Scar II hits all the right notes, making it one of the best I’ve tested.

The ASUS ROG STRIX SCAR II GL504 is the result of ASUS listening to user feedback. The first-gen GL503 wasn’t a bad laptop at all. In fact, it was a nice change to see a manufacturer add more value to an existing lineup by specialising laptops based on the genre of games that the consumers tend to play.
