Of course when we start criticising a laptop for having a too-high-resolution screen and not being quite powerful enough for high-end gaming, we are being overly picky. You don't buy an Ultrabook for hardcore gaming - you buy an Alienware 17 or...

Samsung's ATIV Book laptops don't go up to 10. They start at the ATIV Book 2 and they go up to the ATIV Book 9. But if you want one louder, you do have an option: The ATIV Book 9 Plus .Bargain-seekers can stop reading right now. At $1,400, the ATIV Book...

Two years later, and everything's changed but Samsung. Ultrabooks — now long-lasting, powerful, thin, and often downright affordable — are everywhere, and many manufacturers are already looking for the next big, twisting, shape-shifting thing. Samsung,...

Following on from one of our favorite Ultrabooks of 2012 is the Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus. It uses the same stylish design as the previous model but offers a few interesting upgrades on the specifications. A QHD (3200×1800) touchscreen and Haswell CPU for...

The Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus is a great ultrabook with an excellent design, lots of processing power and top-notch sound quality (for an ultrabook). But with screen contrast this low (330:1), we just can't give it five stars. Plus, it has only half the...

The Samsung Ativ Book 9 is one of the nicer Windows Ultrabooks around at the moment with stylish design and impressive-looking specifications. But it comes at a high price and has disappointing battery life. Unless you specifically want Windows 8 and that super high-res display, you should bear in mind that the equivalent MacBook Air has better overall performance and is cheaper.

The Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus is one of the best Ultrabooks on the market, and as of this writing, still one of the few with Haswell. From a design perspective, nothing beats the 9 Plus, and it's more visually daring than the aging MacBook Air design...

It's a solid enough package that we can forgive its few flaws (the painted-on branding and the comparatively slow disk speeds). So, while there are some other excellent, similarly priced options out there, the ATIV Book 9 Plus is a fantastic option in its own right.

Otherwise, you might want to consider some of its closest competitors. Alternatively, Samsung has also produced a budget version of the Ativ, called the Lite, which sacrifices performance in the quest for a £500 price tag.

The ATIV Book 9 Plus packs more than just pixels With a whopping 3200 x 1800 resolution, it'd be easy to dismiss the ATIV Book 9 Plus as just another ultrabook capitalizing on more pixels. Thankfully, this isn't the case. Samsung's latest...
