Price-wise it shouldn’t really come as a surprise that the Xperia Z1 Compact is priced similarly to its large-screen flagship counterparts. MobiCity, which provided us with the Z1 Compact to review today, sells the Z1 Compact for $570 unlocked and off-contract, which is the same price as the full-size Xperia Z1, so it won’t cost you to opt for the smaller model.

With this phone, Sony tries to recreate its brilliant – but admittedly large – Xperia Z1 smartphone in a smaller, but still smart, package. The Z1 Compact certainly has big ambitions: with the intention of going head-to-head with the Apple iPhone 5s ....

Hate phablets? Don’t like Apple’s iOS? Help is at hand at long last. Now you can finally buy a premium phone that doesn’t swamp your hands or dwarf your face when you lift it to take a call. Kudos to Sony for coming up with a phone as petite and...

For some people flagship phones such as the original Sony Xperia Z1 are a little on the large size. A 5″ screen could be a little too much,Whilst we have ‘mini’ versions of some phones, like the S3 Mini, S4 Mini etc; normally picking a mini device...

Albeit without a full HD display, the Z1 Compact squeezes all the high-end technical goodies usually found in monster Android überphones into a stylish, well made and altogether rather neat little handset, both aesthetically and figuratively. Despite...

Not a fan of big phones? You’re not the only one, and Sony may have found the perfect middle point for someone keen on flagship specs and performance without needing to tax the pockets too much. While the big phones tend to be the flagship devices...

Sony has achieved something special with the Xperia Z1 Compact. The company has created an excellent phone — first. Then they've added wonderful features to it, like the high resolution camera, exquisite display and its I'm-not-scared-of-water attitude....

This is, perhaps, the first credible iPhone competitor to emerge on the Android scene in recent memory. Small, waterproof, packing a 20.7 megapixel camera and a beastly Snapdragon 800 chipset, the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is a different take on what a...

Get the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact on Amazon It seems the companies have figured it out – smaller form factors aren't a fringe product but are in very real demand. But “mini” versions of flagships tend to lose some of what make their bigger siblings appealin...

Like action heroes, the latest smartphones seem to be constantly bulking up, especially when it comes to the size of their screens. Not everyone wants a huge mobile bursting out of their trouser pocket or cluttering up their bag though, and these are the...

In the end, we think “the mini we deserve” matches our high expectations of a small flagship device, without a lot of compromises. If you are coming from an iPhone and really really want a similarly sized device with all the experiences that you’d...

Gigantic performance in a small casing - the Xperia Z1 Compact Sony fulfills the wish of many customers with the Xperia Z1 Compact because these "Mini" versions were only available with stripped down hardware (see HTC's One Mini , Samsung's Galaxy S4...

For any other 4.3-inch smartphone, we'd call that asking price a pretty steep one. As it is, we'd expect nothing less than premium-level performance from the Z1 Compact, petite package or no. Fortunately for Sony, “premium performance” is exactly what...

With a 4.3in display and top-end features, this handset sees Sony challenging Apple's iPhone 5S in the smartphone market, and it's no doubt looking to win over buyers with the fact that its Xperia Z1 Compact, at £449, is around £70 cheaper than Apple's...

The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact might be mini, but it packs a big punch. You get industry-leading performance from its quad-core 2.2 GHz processor and 2GB of RAM and that really sets it apart from other compact Android smartphones. We love the more...

The Sony Xperia Z1 was one of my favourite handsets of 2013, so it's understandable perhaps that I had high hopes for the Xperia Z1 Compact. I'm of the opinion that this is an excellent device in its own right, but it's also one of the...

Sony has done well with the Xperia Z1 Compact. The smaller format handsets that come along after their bigger cousins can sometimes be cut down in terms of features as well as size, but that's not the case here. This is a top-end phone in a hand-friendly...
