How do we rate?

Here's a quick description of how we rate products in our reviews. Notice however that the real purpose of ratings are to give readers the overall impression of each one of the products separately and NOT to compare each product to another directly just because of the ratings, 3D Spotlight staff is formed by different reviewers with different judgements and points of view.

10 / 9.5 / 9  OUTSTANDING

Not a lot of stuff can get in here, however if it does it must be because the item has got unique features we really think are worth your money. Anything that we rate over 9.0 earns our Outstanding product award and should be considered for an instant buy.

Only the best of the best earns 3D Spotlight's Outstanding product award.

8.5 / 8    EXCELLENT

Here we have the excellent stuff, this items are well worth your attention but not everyone will be hooked instantly. Maybe not the best of the best but the items that score in this range should be on par with the most powerful rivals.

7.5 / 7    VERY GOOD

Very good products are in this range, there might be better stuff out there but usually this kind of items are good for specific needs of certain people.

6.5 / 6    GOOD

While still above average, products in this range aren't as good as the ones with higher scores and shouldn't be considered to top your buying list. Items with this kind of score have probably got significant flaws that keep it from earning higher ratings.

5.5 / 5    NOT BAD...

This product just doesn't deserves to be considered at all. We review stuff that is aimed to the PC Enthusiast but the lack of originality and potential of this item makes it a definite no go.

4.5 to 0    DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME

It's always good to know what products should be avoided by all means. Notice however that is very improbable to see a lot of products to fall in this category, developers and engineers just wouldn't bother releasing a product that is so damn bad.
