Power Consumption & Temperatures
The power consumption levels of the Core 2 Duo E7200 are excellent. Using an Intel X48 platform it scored just 199 watts under load. This is considerably less than the Phenom processors, though we suspect that the nForce 780a chipset is also very inefficient in this regard.
The operating temperatures of the Core 2 Duo E7200 are also very low according to the ASUS P5E3 Premium motherboard, which was also used to measure the temperatures of the E8400 and Q6600 processors.
