Overclocking Performance
Overclocking actually went very well with the Gainward GeForce GT 240. Although the card's core frequency came factory-overclocked from 550MHz to 585MHz, we were able to boost this number to a much more impressive 710MHz -- roughly a 30% gain.
This allowed for a 24% performance boost in Company of Heroes, 26% in Left 4 Dead 2 and 17% for Far Cry 2. When overclocked, the GeForce GT 240 was generally faster than the Radeon HD 4650. It also matched the Radeon HD 4770 in Far Cry 2 at 1920x1200, but its performance was still noticeably slower than the latter in the first two tested games.
