Application Performance

AMD processors never perform well when testing with Microsoft Excel 2007, so we expected a performance gap between the Phenom II X2 560 and the Core i3 processors. Both the Asrock Core 100HT-BD and Vision 3D were considerably faster than our system in this application. With its speedier Intel Core i3 370M, the Asrock Vision 3D had a clear advantage over the Core 100HT-BD in this application.

The Phenom II X2 560 appears to have more horsepower when it comes to compression, as it beat both Asrock mini-PCs in our WinRAR tests. Both the large single file and multiple smaller file tests favored the AMD Phenom II X2 560 system. The Asrock Vision 3D did however show considerable improvements over the Core 100HT-BD.

While the Asrock Core 100HT-BD was only a few seconds faster than our AMD Phenom II X2 560 test system in the Adobe Photoshop CS5 tests, the new Vision 3D was considerably faster. In fact, compared to the Core 100HT-BD, the Vision 3D applied the radial blur filer to an 88MP image 8.4 seconds faster.
