Benchmarks: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops

To test Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 we used Fraps. We changed the test scenario to the Hummer scene in "ACT I - Team Player" where your unit comes under fire traveling though the city. Maximum in-game quality settings were used with 4xAA and a 60 second gameplay recording.

Running Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 at 1920x1200 we saw the GeForce GTX 570 average 74fps, making it as much as 15% slower than the GeForce GTX 580. However, the card was able to perform 3% faster than the GeForce GTX 480 and 30% faster than the GTX 470, while it was also 32% faster than the Radeon HD 5870.

Call of Duty: Black Ops
Again Fraps was used to benchmark the single player aspect of Call of Duty: Black Ops. For our benchmarks we used Fraps to measure frame rates during a minute of gameplay from the first single-player level (Operation 40). The test begins from the checkpoint where the player mans a machine gun on a plane trying to take off. As luck would have it this scene goes for a little over 60 seconds and the path is automated, so we could accurately run it over and over again. Again maximum in-game quality settings were used, which includes 4xAA, while 60 seconds of game-play was used for testing.

The GeForce GTX 570 performed very well when testing with Call of Duty: Black Ops. The card achieved an impressive 111fps at 1920x1200 and was just 8% slower than the GTX 580. It was 5% faster than the GTX 480 while leading the GeForce GTX 470 by a 22% margin and the Radeon HD 5870 by a crushing 31% performance margin.
