Benchmarks: Far Cry 2, Aliens vs. Predator

To test Far Cry 2, we used the "Action Scene" from the custom benchmark tool, which we feel is an excellent representation of real gameplay performance. We ran this DirectX 10 title at maximum in-game quality settings with 8xAA.

The GeForce GTX 570 loses out to the GTX 480 for the first time when testing Far Cry 2 at 1920x1200. Still with just a 6% margin Nvidia's newest card was not a great deal slower. While it also trails the GeForce GTX 580 by a 16% margin, the card was able to trump the GeForce GTX 470 and Radeon HD 5870 graphics cards by a 23% performance margin.

Aliens vs. Predator
We used the custom DX11 benchmark for Alien vs. Predator as it's highly demanding. We played through a test scene in the same sequence every time for accurate results. The maximum possible visuals were enabled along with 4xAA/16xAF.

The GeForce GTX 570 did well when testing with Aliens vs. Predator at 1920x1200. With an average of 42fps the card was 17% slower than the GTX 580, but also 13% faster than the GTX 480 and 19% faster than the Radeon HD 5870. Meanwhile the aging GeForce GTX 470 was crushed by a 48% margin.
