Application Performance
The Asus P8P67 Deluxe crossed the line first taking just 4.43 seconds in our Microsoft Excel 2010 test. Surprisingly the ECS P67H2-A2 and Gigabyte P67A-UD7 were the slowest boards taking .12 seconds longer than the Asus P8P67 Deluxe, but the results were extremely close with all boards taking around 4.5 seconds to complete the test.
We found similar trends when testing with Adobe Photoshop CS5 as the Asus P8P67 Deluxe provided the best result while the ECS P67H2-A2 came last, making the former about 8% faster in this test.
For our custom WinRAR compression test, we take a 700MB audio/video file and compress it. This took roughly the same time on all motherboards, but Asus' board fared best while Gigabyte and ECS' boards were at the bottom of the pile.
