Power Consumption

Before we roll into the conclusion, it's worth showing the G1.Sniper2's power consumption. To measure idle performance, we let the system sit at the Windows 7 desktop for a few minutes and recorded the lowest result -- 85 watts in this case. Given the GTX 580 SOC was also installed, this is fairly impressive.

We used Prime95 to test load or stress performance, which increase power consumption to 178 watts -- the same amount of power consumed by the Asrock A75 Pro4. Although it technically "beat" the Extreme4, the G1.Sniper2 was only 2 watts ahead in the load test and a single watt ahead when idle.
