The ultra-speedy Western Digital Raptor 150 is 17% faster than the large 500GB Seagate drive in terms of average write performance according to HD Tach. The Raptor 150 on the other hand is just 7% faster than the mammoth Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000 1TB hard drive. When it comes to burst performance the Seagate 500GB drive is the victor here, followed by the Hitachi 1TB drive. So far the performance of the Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000 1TB hard drive is looking good!
