The above results were recorded in PCmark2005 from the XP Startup, Application Loading and General Usage tests. The Deskstar 7K1000 is pretty much neck to neck with the Seagate Barracuda, while the Western Digital Raptor 150 was 17% faster, which equates to just one and a half megabytes per second.
The Application Loading test saw the Deskstar 7K1000 defeating the Seagate Barracuda by a little over one megabyte per second, while the Raptor 150 was less than a megabyte per second faster. Finally, the General Usage test placed the Raptor 150 and Deskstar 7K1000 neck to neck, while the Seagate Barracuda was significantly slower.
