The Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition consumed considerably more power than the GeForce GTX 680 and standard 7970, using around 7% more power.
The Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition operated at roughly the same temperature as the standard 7970 under load and at idle. With a load temperature of 81 degrees we expect to see much better results from AMD’s board partners with their own custom cooling designs.
