System Power Consumption

The power consumption results aren't necessarily that surprising, though they are a little disappointing. Although the A10-5800K is more efficient than the A8-3850 -- consuming 4 watts less while being clocked 31% higher -- Trinity still uses considerably more power than Ivy Bridge. AMD's new arrival produces a total system consumption of 116 watts, whereas as the Core i3-3220-equipped machine consumed just 61 watts under load. In other words, the A10-5800K consumed about 90% more power.
