Benchmarks: MemTach & WinRAR
Above we have some MemTach Analyze performance results and as you can see, the Core 2 Quad Q6600 does very well in both the Analyze 1 and 2 tests. While the Core 2 Duo E8400 excels in the Analyze 1 test, it is quite average in the Analyze 2 test. The Phenom processors delivered a similar performance trend to that of the E8400.
While we were once limited to half a megabyte or less per second, these quad-core processors can compress over a megabyte of data per second, as demonstrated by the Phenom and Core 2 Quad. The Phenom actually provided us with slightly better throughput when compared to the Core 2 Quad, though the difference was minimal. Important to note, how the single-core performance of the Core 2 Quad was marginally better than that of the Phenom.
