Benchmarks: AS SSD Benchmark

As we saw in CrystalDiskMark the Samsung SSD 850 Evo is able to max out the SATA 6Gb/s interface when measuring sequential read performance.

The Samsung SSD 850 Evo like many modern SSDs is able to reach the maximum throughput of the SATA III bus when writing sequential data.

The 4K-64 thread test shows massive performance gains been offered by the Samsung SSD 850 Evo over its predecessor. The 90% increase in read performance is welcomed here as it means the 850 Evo is on par with the 850 Pro.

Here we see a 54% increase in performance for the 850 Evo when compared to the previous model.

Measuring the read access time reveals that the Samsung SSD 850 Evo is 19% faster than the 840 Evo as it took just 0.076ms. Not a bad result but keep in mind the Crucial MX100 was 45% faster.

This time the Samsung SSD 850 Evo was 29% faster than the 840 Evo but again was also 29% slower than the Crucial MX100.
