Hi, my name is David and am new to the forums. I am someone who has average to slightly above average computer knowledge. I bought my first pc back in 1982, a Commodore Vic-20, it had 5 kilobytes of ram(yikes). I am presently using a core2duo self-built pc with 2gigs of ram. I know Vista has many bugs but am still toying with idea to get it. But for now, as I am in between jobs, I'll wait.

David,I bought a refurb Gateway that CAME with Vista Ultimate, and it has run perfectly (until I !! bunged it up) The only problems I had was loading freeware that wasn't Vista ready (some run fine, you can't tell) The built in RESTORE function makes recovery easy.,,I started with c64.....Good Luck!...Don J

Thanks DrJulian,

I was thinking of getting the 64 bit version as memory will no longer be as limited. Eight gigs of memory sounds very nice, especially now with the rock bottom prices!

I appreciate the info, take care
I can't wait to buy it!!

David
