IP + Domain Cookie required

I did read about the change in server and use of the IP. What I don't understand is why it's necessary that I keep the Cookie for 74.55.96.66 (ThePlanet) AND the one for techspot.com to remain signed on! And even then, occasionally, I'm having to sign on again!

I've only got "www.techspot.com/" cookie
But I did notice that some searches through Google give the IP address, and if you click on the link, I suppose that will create the IP cookie (or if you manually just go to the IP)

The sign off issue is an automatic no user response time. Not sure on what the exact minutes duration is, but I agree it's short, sometimes after writing a reply, I need to re-sign in to post the message (I believe this duration of auto sign off should be extended maybe for 15mins)

I also believe the "last edited by" message should allow 5 mins not 1 to 2 mins that it is (actually not sure about this duration either)

Doesn't checking the "remember me" box resolve all the getting signed out issues? It does for me.

Two things that could be ocurring:

1) You may want to try clearing your cookies, then logging in to TechSpot from scratch and only the domain name IP should be needed.

2) If that doesn't work, try running this command on the prompt: "ipconfig /flushdns", then try #1 above again

Well, I removed the techspot.com Cookie, kept the IP and logged in again. Had almost finished typing a fairly long reply to someone when the screen was replaced with 'Thank you for logging on'- again' and my post was blank.

Edit: Okay, I went back and replaced the techspot.com Cookie and removed the IP. Came back here and was still signed on. Will not go back an retype that post until I know I won't lose it.

Just copy (before submitting the message) and paste (if you lose it)
Actually I've never lost a reply, usually I sign back in, and my reply comes up ok.

kimsland, I usually do copy, but didn't get a chance on this because it popped up right in the middle of my typing. I WAS logged on, already gotten the 'Thank you for logging on', went ahead with the reply, but had another 'thank you' come up in the middle, removed the reply screen and when I returned, it was blank.

So far, leaving 'techspot.com' on without the IP is working.
