Looks to me like you've been nobbled by a parasite related to Coolwebsearch. Google this file from your HJT log - CSRSSU.EXE You should find lots of information via Google, I personally prefer Adaware SE. Good luck.

I'm having this problem now. I have ezAmor Pest Patrol and it isnt detecting anything. Someone told me my problem is now in my registry. Can anybody tell me exactly where and what to remove from my registry?

thanks

Belinda

HJT log for realblackstuff

I did everything you asked. I was still having problems so I rebooted again in Safe Mode and ran Hijackthis again. Here is my log. Do you think it might be something in my registry?? Thank you so much.

not working after all :=(

I've determined I have to format my hard drive. But I cant even do that. I keep getting

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner>format c:
The type of the file system is NTFS.

WARNING, ALL DATA ON NON-REMOVABLE DISK
DRIVE C: WILL BE LOST!
Proceed with Format (Y/N)? y
Verifying 38122M

Format cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Format may run if this volume is dismounted first.
ALL OPENED HANDLES TO THIS VOLUME WOULD THEN BE INVALID.
Would you like to force a dismount on this volume? (Y/N) y
Cannot lock the drive. The volume is still in use.

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner>

CAN ANYONE HELP ME??!?! thanks!!!

If you go that way, go into BIOS and set it to boot first from CD-ROM.
Boot up with the XP CD in it.
That will start the installation. Format the HD from in there and then continue install.

You try now to format the harddisk where the Format-program is on. That program canNOT format itself :unch:

Most PCs show the BIOS name (e.g. Award, Phoenix etc.) when it starts up, together with the amount of memory, what Harddisks you have etc. (white text on black)
At the bottom left, it normally tells you to press the Del key or F1/F2/F10 key to go into BIOS.
Hit that key immediately. If you miss it, let it continue to boot, then exit Windows and restart and try again.
Then find the Boot Sequence setup in your BIOS. There are too many versions around to give you more specific instructions. Read up in your motherboard manual, if you have one.
When done, SAVE your changes and reboot.

You can try first to boot with the XP CD inserted, it may be set correctly already.
