Yes, I'm sure my email addy is valid. Still no confirmation code.

I suspect that Hotmail is treating your confirmation email as junk email or spam and filtering it out in some way. In another vbulletin based forum I belong to, that's what happened there. The administrators there got so tired of manually fixing the accounts of those who use Hotmail, they no longer accept Hotmail email addresses as valid for registration anymore.
