I managed to on paper to put together an athlon2600+ (333MHz) Tower, with an Nforce2 chipset, Geforce 440MX 128MB DDR 8x graphics, USB 2.0, DVD writer, etc etc with a copy of Win XP home for about £420 including Vat.

Considering that was for a retail customer (I don't yet have a trade account), I found it quite reasonable
