I could have them on full resolution and full settings without trouble. So I re-install XP then games are having VERY low fps, it's not even playable really. I have a ATI Radeon 3600 512mb, anti-aliasing isn't on or anything like that, the drivers that come with this card are either a display driver or the catalyst control centre that edits thing but If you just install display driver it doesn't tinker with settings but I've tried both and no hope. It even happens on things like YouTube sometimes it just goes really slow for a few seconds.

1. The CPU usage isn't high
2. I have the updated graphics drivers and lastest DirectX
3. I've tried disabling HD and things like that

--If you buy games the second you find them, very. I would try to limit yourself on how often you buy games and how soon you buy them after release. Games are usually $10-$50 on there, sometimes more depending on the game.

How often does it crash?
--I personally have never had it physically crash yet, but I have had my connection to the Steam server crash quite a bit.

How often does it just not work?
--About 99.9% of the time. The only time it doesn't work is when it's user-error, such as stopping certain services that support Executable files.

Is it frustrating? Confusing? Difficult?
--It takes a while to get used to if you've never used it before and are used to other programs such as Xfire (Chat only). Otherwise, it's extremely easy to use.

Does it reduce the fun-ness of games?
--Personally, I think not.

I recently got Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Game of the Year Edition, and after only 4 to 5 minutes of play, it would freeze up, character models and all. I'd have to Ctrl Alt Delete it and wait about 3 minutes before the task manager would show up and then end the task, which took another 3 or so minutes. I tried several things, updating all of my drivers, downgrading the drivers, reinstalling Oblivion, using an official patch, using an unofficial patch, yet it still continued to crash. A couple times a dialog box would pop up and say "Nvidia display driver stopped working", and then my monitor would just turn black. I had to give my system a hard shut down on every occurance.

Similar thing happened on Batman Arkham Asylum Demo I got off of Steam. The opening cutscene worked just fine, but in game it seemed a little slow. After a few minutes, it just froze up, then I got a BSOD and my system restarted.

Similar thing happened to Dragon Age Origins. The opening cutscene worked just fine, and as soon as I got to the character select screen, I couldn't move my cursor at all, and then I got a BSOD and my system restarted.

Every time this happens, be it Oblivion, Dragon Age Origins or Arkham Asylum, whenever I come back to my desktop, I have to use the "Active Desktop Restore Wizard" in order to get my wallpaper back up for some reason. The music for the games also doesn't stutter or skip whenever they crash, it just keeps going, save for Oblivion, where it goes on for about 5 seconds and it fades out.

AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3400+
2.19 GHz 3.25 GB of RAM

if this helps at all, for those that have played bof3, im at steel beach, and im at the part were u have to use garr to help the foreman pull on ropes to pull stuff out of the water, (long part short) u have to hit the x button wen it tells u to, u have to hit it as fast as u can. the npc u r helping does the same thing, but with the game running to fast i cant keep up with the npc....(if the rope lengths get to far apart u fail) unfortunately this is not a side quest, if i cant get passed this part there is no point in me playing anymore as i cant go any farther in game till a complete it

I've currently limited the CPU affinity to one core, but it's still maxing out that core. The game used to stutter before this however, and setting the CPU affinity has helped noticeably.

I've seen videos of people playing this game maxed out (minus AA) on an 8800GT and with a much weaker CPU than mine; it runs quite smoothly from what I can make out. Is this some sort of hardware-specific bug? My hardware should be more than capable of running the game at 1440x900 on High or Very High detail setting without issues IMO.

Oh, and FYI, I've patched the game too, to no avail.

It's an awesome game, and I really wanna enjoy it to the fullest. It's rather technical, but not for all you pc builders. All you have to do is install microsoft virtual pc on your machine and install your os to it . got the thing loaded and it just sits.
if i launch from either the start-up menu or from the CD, it runs, shows the "RIDDICK" box logo, then inverts my screen, switches to 800x600 and then just sits. the disk and HD stop spinning. everything just locks, though the pointer will still move. need to do a hard reboot to move on. any ideas?

while the computer is only 2 years old, the game is older. i wouldnt think that it couldnt manage this game - appears to meet the requirements.

Ive been on the Blizzard site and they want me to send either the game box or the actual cd to them for a replacement key, I find this somewhat annoying since im in australia and they're state side.
