I'm not sure this is in the right thread but I couldn't really find a thread for it that fit all that well, so anyhow, here goes. I a lot of times have a lot of free time these days, and instead of do things that really don't matter and really arnt productive at all i'd like to study and grab certifications. I don't really have the money to pay for training, so basically i'm looking for a website or websites that have a good study course, or material for things like A+, Network+, MCSE...I also had my CCNA at one point but i'm sure its expired by now, at the moment i'd prefer lifetime certs like A+.

I basically want to amass as many certs as I can while I have free time, and scrounge up the money for the tests. It's either that or I'm going to start hard on learning visual basic..which I do have a book for somewhere.. Any sites, suggestions, etc are greatly appreciated!

Edit: I am an alumni on the cisco student stuff through ccnp. I really don't want to bother with the CCNA and CCNP at this point though as I almost never see any job anywhere near me that wants/requires someone with those. Network+ should be a cake walk though because of the classes I went through in cisco stuff though.

Can someone tell me what is up with Mozilla Firefox? My Mozilla browser hasn't been operating as efficient as before (months now) which forced me to go back to Internet Explorer 8. As everyone knows, IE is much more prone to malware & spyware attacks. With no avail, I had been infected by some well annoying tracking malware (Cid pop-ups). So, I'm in the midst of eradicating the issue.

However, the point is, is Mozilla tweaked and fixed to function as efficient and smoothly as before? Or, are there still problem to Mozilla Firefox?

I'm not really a teckie guy so it drains me out a lot on fixing up with malicious attacks/problems.

Anyone out there could shed me some light in answering my questions? Could appreciate some guides as well. Thank you very much!

Cheers!

Hey all. Obviously, I'm new here.

I've been on a number of other tech sites before, so I kind of have a good feel for the way things go. It may be my first post, but consider me a seasoned veteran in the computer and technology field.

I specialize in troubleshooting, and building computers. Want someone to put together a good computer for a reasonable price? I'm your guy. I can also help you try to resolve some software related issues. I'm much more familiar with PCs versus Macs, but that doesn't mean I won't try.

The other tech sites I frequented weren't exactly very friendly, and the way people were treated put me off, or there just wasn't any activity in general. Nothing but chit-chat posts for weeks before someone popped in with a question. Here's to hoping I can enjoy myself here. If you guys have any questions, don't hesitate to throw me a message.

Also, I'll give you an internet-high-five if you can guess my username's reference.

I love finding out information about people (which explains my major xD), so I thought this might be interesting to other people, especially since it would allow members to discuss and realize connections they have with other members (of the same major/track). Also, if you are aiming at a certain degree (like a D.C.S, M.S., ph.D.), say that as well.

I'm guessing that many of you will either be Computer Science / Information Systems majors, but hopefully there will be a few people of various degrees and specializations :p .

Anyway, I'm working on my B.A. in Psychology.

I'm *aiming* at either medical school for psychiatry or a Psy.D./ph.D. program in clinical psychology, which my current university is known for (they have a good Psy.D. program).
