Everything working fine on Linksys home router connected to cable modem WRT150N until we suddenly lost the internet connection. After resetting router, resetting modem and restarting computer, everything's back up and running, all puters connect to network and internet, but now wireless laptop identifies the router as generic Lynksys unsecured network.

When I run Linksys Setup it says it can't connect to internet even as the internet is running on the next screen. It won't let me change network name or password.

In short, network and internet connection working fine, but can't edit the Linksys to re-secure the network. Could someone have remotely screwed with my router? Can you think of any way to regain control of router? Re-install linksys software?

I've pasted these instructions from my prior sticky post on DSL reports forum I hope it helps you.

Step E_

either you recover from a backup or just start fresh.

The above should not be done while connected to your cable modem. Best to turn that off also. Once you hit Step E test the router on your LAN first before you connect the modem for testing on the WAN. You need to make sure you LAN browsing is fixed and the router is providing DHCP to all your wired network and wireless network devices. Once you do that then connect the modem and see if you can now browse on the internet.
